據說是有歷史和回憶的動物園，第一次來參觀，但可惜應該也是最後一次了，沒遇過這種動物超級少、停車場位置也很少、園區內飲食也很少而且動線指標不足，而且門票價錢竟然可以和台北市動物園幾乎一樣，cp值超低，開眼界了。

動物園再生工程，會採兩個時間開放，第一階段會在8月下旬，以早期大象門入口處的濱水動物區先開放預約參觀，可觀看河馬、紅毛猩猩等動物，會以團體、學校小規模的入園參觀為主。第二階段則在年底開放，除全面開放，也會採民間促參委外營運，目前已有廠商投標，票價會採分級票價，包括市民優惠，長者幼童可能免費等，市府將為市民爭取分級票價優惠。

動物園園長楊家民強調，動物園內被安置的動物目前狀況良好，動物像人般有生老病死，有動物老邁身體不佳，但也有新生動物，像是美洲浣熊等，再生後的動物園將可近距離觀看動物，動物活動棲息的空間也變大，將是孩子學童最佳的生命教育場域。

楊家民強調，未來開放後也會有照顧動物的體驗區，例如幫河馬洗水池，利用河馬便便製成再生草紙等，會加入體驗活動，讓動物園成為友善動物及生命教育場域。

Hsinchu city zoo is the best place for the local population to go on weekend. It suits parents take children to visiting. There are many kinds of animals, cute animal like rabbits monkey and big animal like tiger bear. If you think the price are not cheap you were wrong. Just need 20 dollars you can enjoy watching the animals all day. Although it is renovation now, you can experience this place after it completed.

20190527新竹市政府城市行銷處處長顏章聖表示，新竹市立動物園的再生工程，目前預計會採取兩階段開放方式：
第一階段預計從 8 月下旬開始，先行開放預約參觀，並以團體、學校小規模等入園參觀為主，預計可觀看河馬、紅毛猩猩等動物。
第二階段則預計在今年年底全面開放，並採取民間促參委外營運，而票價會採分級票價，包括市民優惠、長者幼童可能免費等，市府將為市民爭取分級票價優惠。
未來新竹市立動物園重新開放後，也會有動物體驗區讓民眾參加體驗活動，以期成為孩童最佳的生命教育園區。

台灣最古老的動物園，地方不大票價便宜，適合帶小孩來參觀。
不過目前閉園整修中，重新開園的日期一延再延還不確定何時會真正重新開園…

親子休閑的好去處 可以替小孩介紹動物的生活起居 也可以促進親子關係 以前去過還不錯 修園重新整修後一定要帶小孩子再去 不一樣的面貌會有不一樣的心情 建立親子關係的好去處 我發現不只是大人小孩子可以去連老人家也可以去走走喔

Hsinchu Zoo is a memory for each citizens in Hsinchu. Although it’s in the close recently, we never forget that it take a lot of fun for us. Its a fare is really cheap and worth, so all of people can enjoy playing and seeing with different animals.

This is the only zoo in Hsinchu city. The environment here is decent and the eating area is clean. There are a lot of huge animals in the zoo. They have a big space to move around and it is very clean. I also want to compliment the staff at the guest service. All in all, it's an excellent place for family to spend a day.

First, the price of the ticket is really cheap. It only costs about twenty dollars for one adult. Better yet, you can even enter the zoo with an EasyCard. It's a good place to take a walk with your kids. Although the odor there is a little smelly, and the roads are not very wide during peak season, it's still worth a visit. I recommend going there for an afternoon on weekend!

60年前我小時候住附近 有很多的回憶照片， 當年動物園裡的動物很多是當年華僑 何國華 贈送的 應該沒記錯當年竹市政府財務較不足所以有一段時間無法補充動物造成有些破舊 現在較為好多 ，現在能讓我能回憶的是大門兩邊的大象頭一直沒變。

When I was little, I went here with my family. It is a good way to get close with your family by going here. If you do, you will have many unforgettable memories. I have many memories with my family. It was a interesting experience.

與台北動物園相比，更喜歡來新竹動物園，且已超過十次以上，雖然動物數較少，佔地也比較小，但價格超便宜，入園人數也較不擁擠，週邊攤販林立，用餐購物都相當超值，重點是小孩也特別喜歡，待上一整天也樂此不疲。
