Even though some people would call it cliché, I personally loved having Pearl Milk Tea at its origin! The vibe in the restaurant is great and you can also have some nice food from the restaurant.

We paid 90 NTD for the medium-size Bubble Tea + around 10 NTD for the service charge, but it was definitely worth it!

I don’t understand the approach that some may have that it’s overrated. For me it’s quite normal that a place with great historical significant will make a use out of it and market themselves well. Overall, the drive out to Taichung for the original Bubble Tea was a great experience and that’s also what you’re paying for

Went on a friday around 12: 30 PM and we only had to wait 20 minutes to get a table. The bubble tea is incredible! Ordered the classic bubble tea and the brown sugar but I definitely recommend the classic version. The tea shines through in the drink. It has a shaken/foamy texture which I appreciated a lot. Wished the pearls were softer. The vintage milkfish is also amazing. Service time is quick despite the number of people dining there. I recommend visiting the place if you’re going to Taichung!

This place was little bit of walk to get to if you're commuting, but it was worth it. Milk teas were served generously in heavy duty glasses and tiny bobba to tea ratio was just right. The osmanthus tea was remarkable and the brown sugar tea was not too sweet. The service was very kind to assist and they spoke some English

This place claims to be the invention place of bubble tea. I don't know if it is true, but I do know it is a great place to eat. The menu has english text so it is easy to order, the service is very friendly, it looks pretty inside and wow, the food is really amazing. The pearl milk tea is good, but the braised tofu is really fantastic. Highly recommended!

Very good sweet potato balls! I bought some later at a night market but was severely disappointed bc Chun Shui Tang's was so much better. The milk tea was good but not amazing. Service was friendly. I am deducting 1 star because a centipede or something FELL ON MY PHONE right as I took a sip of my milk tea. A worker helped me kill it, apologized, and offered bf and me to sit at another table.

I derped and did not comprehend the sign that says to not use the stairs behind the gate to go downstairs. I felt so bad and kept apologizing after a worker told me I cannot do that (after she saw that I already took them to go downstairs). She assured me it was OK and that was that.

Don't be like me!

Food and drinks were great, would reccomend the brown sugar mochi with the black sesame. Be advised cash only.

If you are fond of bubble tea culture then you should come to this place, which is said to be where the famous Taiwan drink was invented for the first time. And if you don’t know about bubble tea then you can find lots of info about it (the restaurant it’s a sort of a small museum with many info). The food was also good. ️ the place is also sustainable as long as you request no straws (they provide glass cups and reusable plates and chopsticks)

Delicious Bubbletea and great ambiance. I also ordered the taiwanese fried chicken and it was amazing with the bubble tea. One glass is a little expensive for Taiwan's standards but delicious nonetheless. There are several chains but if you have a chance to go to the original please do!

Didn't get bubble tea as me and my companion rarely drink it, but the food was solid! Cute old fashioned building design with interior water pools, fish pond and music if that's your thing! Kind of the Din Tai Fung of Taichung I suppose, and of Bubble Tea.
