Chihkan Tower / 赤崁樓

赤崁樓位於台南中西區，之前有來過一次，歷史讀過赤崁樓的前身為普羅民遮城。不過真正的普羅民遮城已經不在了，現在掛有赤崁樓匾額的是海神廟，為清朝所建，在海神廟裡還掛有鄭成功的畫像，赤崁樓裡頭還有文昌閣，可以讓大家祈求學業，門票也頗有紀念性，晚上打光的赤崁樓非常漂亮，別有一番風情，對歷史古蹟和宗教信仰有興趣的人來說是值得去參觀的好去處。

CLOSED FOR RENOVATION
Chikan Tower (the one in the back of the two buildings on site) is closed for renovation between 11/04/2022 - 04/09/2024 (see attached photos).

CHIH KAN LOU (Fort Provintia), the green area in front, and the souvenir shop, is still open though.

This was not mentioned when buying the tickets.

Interesting, can be explored quite quickly cause there isn’t really /that/ much to do.enjoyed the architecture and designs.didn’t realise we needed to pay cause we walked through the gates and no one stopped us?

It was good. But, not something extraordinary. Well, the historical importance adds value to it but a lack of detailed information in English about each important thing/point makes it difficult problem for the foreigners.

They should work on giving Chihkan Tower a better infrastructure (just like some places in Taipei and Kaohsiung) to attract more tourists.

At night it was really nice to visit the place. It also gives an idea of a part of the taiwanese history such as the Dutch era and the Japenese era. I would recommend to anyone that like historical buildings.

赤崁樓，又作赤嵌樓，位於臺灣臺南市的中西區。
前身為1653年荷治時期興建之歐式建築普羅民遮城，紅毛樓，
在地人稱為番仔樓，曾為全島統治中心，至清代已傾圮，僅留部分殘蹟。

今日所見的赤崁樓，大部分是漢人在荷蘭城堡之上，
陸續興建的儒、道教廟祠，包括海神廟、文昌閣。
1960年，又由大南門城內遷來九座贔屭碑，終成今日樣貌。
因此，所稱赤崁樓，是歐式普羅民遮城殘蹟，
以及海神廟、文昌閣的混合體。今列為國定古蹟。

古蹟本身還挺好拍 門票50也ok

但連個付費的塑膠袋或紙袋都沒有
（做個鄭成功紙袋 一個賣兩元也算個商機吧？）
買了兩包鄭成功餅乾 (超大包啊 根本不好拿)

In my opinion, not really worth a visit. An X tower to have a view of the town. The architecture is okay.

台南赤崁樓 (國定古蹟) (普羅民遮城) 台南市中西區民族路二段212號。 門票/全票50元;半票25元。 開放時間上午8點30分至下午9點30分。
這是5月時拍的, 當時在對面的山根日本料理吃飯, 想想, 好像十幾年沒進去赤崁樓了, 趁沒什麼人去拍個照好了。一樣的地方在不同的年齡就會有不同的領悟與心境, 小時侯外公最常帶我們來這裡拍照, 印象中就只有那九隻像烏龜的贔屭, 但現在看的是歷史與建築之美!

I am not going to tell you about Sunset embedded tower (chihkan tower) in 16 century was located at seashore of Tainan (Taiwan’s county). I am introducing a temple seated beside Chihkan tower oldest Shiun-ten-shun-di temple.

It's a cute small fort. It's very cheap to enter, and you can have a ticket for multiple places.

Historic building. Very calming to walk around in the premises. However, there is no English translation for the texts so non-Mandarin visitors may not understand the history.

Try to visit in the evening if you can - they light the place up and it looks spectacular. Also, if the weather is good they have live performances in front of the Tower 7: 30-8: 30 Wednesday thru Sunday. The night we were there they people singing Taiwanese pop songs and women dressed in kimino doing some kind of Japanese fan dance.

One of must visit historical landmarks in Tainan. The building had been built since Ming dynasty. There are standing stones marking the year and whom help to maintained. If you are interested in historical buildings and design. You surely has to visit.

重建數次，保存良好的中式古蹟。
原以為赤崁樓是荷蘭建築，這次參觀後看了說明才知道原本荷式建築早已毀壞，現在的建築只是在僅存的地基上再蓋的海神廟和文昌廟，難怪風格這麼中式。
不過整個園區保存維護的不錯，天氣好時拍照很美，園內也有飲水機和廁所，票價50也很便宜，還是一個值得來晃晃的景點。
