The oldest Confucius temple in Taiwan! ️

It was built about 350 years ago (^ω^)

It's older than the Confucius Temple in Taipei, so when I compared the buildings, it seemed very simple️

Bunshokaku was a unique building, a place to pray for success in passing the imperial examination.

As mentioned in the description, the first floor is square, the second floor is circular, and the third floor is octagonal. It's a mysterious architecture

There was also a shrine where the 5th ancestor of Confucius was enshrined (o^^o).

The trees also have instructions so you can understand them! ️

The phoenix tree, the longan tree.it was worth seeing! ️

There were many turtles in the semicircular pond (^O^)

It was a place that made me feel warm as I took a leisurely tour around it! ️

It was a moment to remember the great people who were born over 500 years ago.

1）花錢：NT$25元，可以參觀大成殿，許多具考究價值的文物陳列供觀賞。

2）免費：不想觀看「全臺首學」的匾額，孔廟外部還是很有看頭。雖然櫺星門已不負存在，但是禮門與義路、以及入德之門，這些古蹟仍保有臺灣學府的風範。
庭園內，卅公尺高的百年「雨豆樹」，屬含羞草科，是全台南縣市第三名的老雨豆樹，第一名在台南公園，第二名在成功大學校區。這麼高大的落葉喬木，竟然跟成功嶺滿山遍野草地上的草本植物，同為含羞草科！因為雨豆樹每逢黃昏下雨，葉片即會閉合，顧名之。
Last but not least，文昌閣也是必定要參觀的，三層樓建築，採「四方圓形八角」，類似鹿港天后宮三進之儒道佛。文昌閣之儒家道家思想，取其大自然界中的天圓地方，人性行為準則的外圓內方，教育后世莘莘學子。二樓之文昌帝君，以及三樓之魁星，都是年年科舉考生必定參拜之處，古今皆然，盡人事聽天命，求其心安。 (文昌帝君&魁星之差異，請參考我的赤崁樓評論)

台南孔廟，值得您細細玩味大半天。
p.s. 夏天，入德之門牆外一株愛文芒果，結實纍纍，不少當地居民採摘食用，文昌閣門前一株土芒果，亦是落果滿地，香氣四溢。

So sad, they are under renovations for the year (2019). No date of completion. There were a few exhibits open in the back.

Beautiful temple, worth visiting. Moreover it's not overcrowded and you can just peacefully walk there.

Interesting experience. I would go with someone who knows the background of the temple if you go or you might be overwhelmed with the information or not appreciate how great of a place the Confucius Temple really is. When i went it was under construction from a previous earth quake but still a great place to sight see and appreciate taiwanese culture.

The main hall is currently under renovation, but there are some small scale exhibitions in the side halls

Unfortunately this place is under construction when we visit. The gift shop is horribly managed though.

數不清的幾訪，目前園區正在整修中。是全台第一座孔廟「全台首學」，建於明鄭時期AD1665年，清朝時是全臺童生唯一入學的地方，一開始只有大成殿用來祭祠孔子，之後才有設置明倫堂當作教室講課（大學之道全文）。

The temple is undergoing major renovations at the moment but it is still worth a visit.
It is a favourite stop on school field trips and graduation trips so there are always large numbers of students praying for good grades and other visitors. Parking might be difficult to find.

臺南孔子廟是臺灣第一座孔廟，位於臺南市中西區，建於明鄭永曆十九年，為臺灣最早的文廟。清領初期是全臺童生唯一入學之所，因此稱「全臺首學」。 臺南孔廟於民國七十二年12月28日公告為祠廟類國家一級古蹟，現為國定古蹟。

Historical temple dedicated to Confucius with beautiful Fujianese architecture and well-kept grounds.

交通方便~火車站走小段路就到 (10分鐘
周遭各式特色店家可以一飽口福
雖然沒有碰到舉辦活動
但聽聞在地店家說偶爾是會有辦活動的
台灣特色廟宇 值得一訪

台南古都必走古蹟之一，台南孔廟是台灣第一座孔廟，已有三百多年歷史的"全台首學"，聽說考試前來可以金榜得名…
孔廟不大，參觀完之後我比較推薦去對面的孔廟商圈， 有很多特色小店和咖啡館，挺不錯的唷。
