The owner who can speak Japanese and the kind staff
I had fun talking with other Japanese people.
I didn't buy expensive tea because I drink it regularly, but here I thought it would be better to buy a higher grade tea as recommended.

Sure, the store next door is clean, but there was no Ni Hao. The staff here were very lively even late at night.

I'm happy to be able to buy cute tea utensils at a low price!

I went there four years ago. It was a delicious tea and I drank it in no time.
I was finally able to visit again at the end of October.

The difference in price is the grade. I understand that, but someone who speaks good Japanese will explain to me that this grade of coffee comes out well even when brewed cold and smells good.

Ochaya is a long-established shop that has been roasting in its storefront for a long time. The prices are reasonable and you can buy good tea at a low price. This has been my favorite store for 25.6 years.

On the day I went, there was only one person who could speak Japanese, so I had no choice but to wait for that person to finish serving customers.
They will verbally explain the different ranks of tea leaves and let you smell the scent of the tea leaves, but there is no tasting available.
(Honestly, as an amateur, I couldn't tell the difference in the scent of dried tea leaves.)
I wanted to know the difference in taste, so I bought two ranks of the same tea leaves, but they just put them in a plastic bag, not in a vacuum pack.
I took measures myself to prevent the vinyl from tearing when I returned home.

There are various types of tea.
Even the same tea leaves have different ranks and prices vary.
Available for purchase starting from 150g. I like Wenshan Baozhong tea and Marissa tea, so I always buy them here.

Since payment is only in cash, I thought it would be nice to be able to use a card as well.

I had a great experience here. Very nice, helpful and English speaking stuff. They give you good advice on their tea selection. Reasonable prices and the best we were allowed to have a look into their tea production.

The tea smell was delicious and the service was good. You can only taste one tea so be strategic.

Awesome tea shop, highly recommend for tea tasting and buying. They sell tea in big barrels, but happy to sell in small quantities. Had a great conversation with the lady boss, learned a lot about various teas. Very friendly relaxed owners, no pressure sales and most importantly they don’t rip off tourists. Honest prices and great tasting tea.

Bought dragon well tea for 1600 TWD per 600 grams. No tasting unfortunately. Said they were busy but staff was just standing around for the most part

Here is an excellent shop, if you want to buy bulk of Taiwanese tea. You can choose medium to high quality leaf with beneficial price. For beginner, my recommendation is "Gaoshan-oolong (1600NTD/600g) ", prepared from fine materials, no bitter and smell of orchid. Each items can purchase from 150g.

Friendly knowledgeable staff. They youngest guy can even speak English. Had a good time and bought a good amount of tea

Wonderful selection of teas with no-frills accessories such as tea cups and pots. The staff are friendly and speak enough English to communicate. They are also happy for you to sample the teas. We got some amazingly fragrant oolong tea, Jasmine tea and green tea halfway between green and oolong tea.
The shop next door is a fancy imitation although they have nicer tea pots and jars.
